NEWS RELEASE: Azara Healthcare, Baltimore Medical System panel at Community Health Institute & Expo (CHI) to highlight transformational success, lessons learned from DRVS data analytics and reporting

BURLINGTON, Mass., August 20, 2014 – Azara Healthcare, a leading provider of data-driven reporting and analytics for community health centers, is pleased to announce an upcoming joint-panel presentation with Baltimore Medical System (BMS) at the 2014 Community Health Institute & Expo (CHI) in San Diego that will share how Azara’s DRVS tool facilitates the center’s transformation to quality-driven, patient-centered care. Organized by the National Association for Community Health Centers (NACHC), CHI selected “Show Me the Money!: Secrets for Performance Improvement with Data-Driven FQHC Practice Transformation” among its highlighted presentations. Jessica Boyd, M.D., chief medical officer at BMS, will co-present with Heather Budd, vice president of clinical transformation at Azara.

Azara and BMS will describe DRVS’ impact on care quality and operational efficiency at the six-site, 46,000-patient center by helping it build trust in its data, assisting providers and staff in understanding the link between their documentation behavior and performance numbers, and using data to impact quality metrics and care delivery.

BMS’ leadership uses DRVS to create a culture of clinical data alignment where strategic initiatives and measures are achieved by leveraging data at all care levels. This approach is producing improved performance results, increased financial incentives and is allowing BMS to prepare for a future where quality and value are more critical to care reimbursement payments.

Since implementing DRVS in 2012, BMS improved several key clinical performance outcomes measures, including diabetes and hypertension. Breast and cervical cancer screening rates also jumped due to the improved data access and population management DRVS provides.

“I am really looking forward to presenting with Dr. Boyd and sharing with the audience how Azara and BMS work together to implement and manage a data reporting and analytics program that produces tangible benefits to the center, its staff, and its patients,” said Budd. “None of this success would be possible without the center’s leadership and commitment to collaborating  with their staff to build trust in the data. We are extremely pleased that NACHC chose to highlight our joint-presentation, and we are excited to provide our audience with best practices and troubleshooting tips for using data to transform care and quality.”
