Growing Together: Azara 2025 User Conference Highlights, Moments, and Key Takeaways

What an incredible week! The excitement coming out of the Azara 2025 User Conference has all shared the same sentiment — somehow, this conference was even better than the last! This year, more than 500 Azara clients, partners, and staff gathered in Boston’s Seaport to network, learn, and collaborate. Following are highlights, memorable moments and key takeaways from this year’s user conference.

Pre-Conference Workshops

On Tuesday morning, we kicked off with four pre-conference workshops. Attendees explored all things DRVS, learning directly from AzaraMedia experts and exchanging ideas with peers. The beginner’s DRVS Bootcamp gave new users a strong introduction to DRVS functionality and practical ways to use data to support their organization’s goals. Back by popular demand was The Quality Directors Toolbelt, where attendees dove into DRVS to improve quality, promote change, and reduce clinical and administrative burdens. Across the hall, attendees at Assessing Access to Care: Data-Informed Strategies to Advance Health Outcomes for All discussed identifying disparities within their patient populations using a change management model. At the final workshop, Growing VBC Capabilities with the Azara Solution Suite, attendees followed a case study and collaborated with their peers to develop a strategy for leveraging the full Azara data ecosystem to implement value-based care across multiple contracts.

Conference Day 1

IMG_0251Excitement was in the air early Wednesday morning as attendees gathered for the start of the conference. We kicked off the morning with opening remarks from Jeff Brandes, Azara's President & CEO. During this general session, Jeff highlighted the new investment from Insight Partners and our merger with i2i Population Health, noting how this will aid in forming a bigger, stronger, and more diversified population health company with a continued focus on safety-net providers. After Jeff set the stage for this year’s conference and reflected on the last year’s work, he turned it over to our keynote speakers. During their keynote session, Dr. Elizabeth Markle, Co-thumbnail_IMG_0257Founder and Executive Director of along with Benjamin Emmert-Aronson, Co-Founder and Director of Operations at Open Source Wellness shared with attendees how a "Community as Medicine" approach can lead to improved health and wellbeing. Through their innovative "prescriptions for health and wellbeing", Dr. Markle led attendees through interactive activities designed to get people moving, talking, and engaging. Participants walked away feeling energized for the day and to take all they learned back to their communities.

Every year, one of my favorite parts of our Azara User Conference is getting a sneak peek at what’s to come from our product team. Wednesday afternoon, Greg Augustine, Azara’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, shared recently released features and enhancements to look forward to across the Azara solution suite.

take home their own custom screen-printed Azara T-Shirt! Some attendees took advantage of being in the iconic sports town and snagged some Celtics playoff tickets to watch an exciting win. Sadly, for most, the Red Sox were out of town this year during the conference – maybe next year folks can take that trip to Fenway they were dreaming of!

Conference Day 2

Thursday morning, we kicked off with our panel session, The Power of Value-Based Care in Transforming Health Outcomes, where the conversationScreenshot 2025-05-09 141052 explored how collaboration across key stakeholders can enhance care delivery and outcomes through innovative models and strategic partnerships. Manny Lopes, President & CEO of Fallon Health, Polly Hanson-Grodsky, Clinical Director of Community Behavioral Health Clinics at Boston Medical Center, and Dr. Robert Fields, EVP, Chief Clinical Officer of Beth Israel Lahey Hospital showed us how achieving better health outcomes requires a shared commitment to breaking down silos, aligning incentives, and creating sustainable solutions.

This year’s event featured strong peer-to-peer learning, with 21 out of 24 breakout sessions led by client presenters. The popular “Pretty Darn Quick” (PDQ) session also returned, showcasing rapid, impactful stories from four different organizations that have successfully leveraged various features of DRVS.

Three days passed in a flash, and before we knew it, attendees were heading back to the 40+ states they had traveled from. Every year when the conference ends, it reminds me of the ending of summer camp – having a few days to connect, spend quality time, and have fun – then returning home to normal life. After speaking with several

attendees throughout the week, I'm confident that everyone walked away with new insights and connections to help them leverage DRVS in their organizations, driving improvements in patient care, population health outcomes, and value-based care performance. I cannot wait to see everyone next spring!

A huge thank you to our 2025 Conference Supporters: Upstream and the American Medical Association.

Mark your calendars – we will be back in the Boston Seaport next year for our 2026 User Conference from April 13-15, 2026. I am already looking forward to seeing the innovative ideas and incredible success our DRVS users will achieve this year.

See you soon!
